A Trusted Partner and Keynote Speaker for Associations
A Trusted Partner and Keynote
Speaker for Associations
When you bring in a speaker, your name is behind that decision. Members notice, and so does leadership.
John Spence helps associations reduce that pressure with programs that are practical, relevant, and well received by members and event leaders. His sessions are designed to strengthen engagement, reinforce the value of the organization, and give audiences ideas they can use immediately.
John approaches every engagement with professionalism and care for the people responsible for the event. He works closely with organizers to keep the process straightforward, so the focus stays on delivering a high-quality program. He understands that your event is both a member experience and a critical business driver.
Each session is built around one simple standard: attendees should leave with tools they can use right away. Drawing on decades of research and direct work with organizations across industries, John translates complex ideas about leadership and organizational performance into clear, actionable frameworks.

"I’ve worked with John for the better part of 15 years. He’s been a remarkable partner, always making our events impactful, interactive, informative, and, most importantly, FUN!
At the end of one event, an attendee came up to me with tears in his eyes and said: “I wish I had attended this twenty years ago when I started my career.” For an association exec, that’s the best thing you can hear from a member.
Thanks, John!"

From the moment I arrive, my focus is simple. If there’s something that helps your event succeed, the answer is yes. I understand that how a speaker shows up offstage matters as much as what happens on stage.
This includes board sessions, workshops, member dinners, executive coaching, or
on-site adjustments based on the needs of the program. When I'm there, I'm all in.

The fundamentals of good leadership haven't changed, but the environment leaders work in has. This session helps association members examine three areas that determine leadership effectiveness going forward: analytical thinking and expertise (IQ), the ability to lead people with emotional intelligence (EQ), and the capacity to adapt as conditions shift (AQ). Participants will learn tools and ideas to make a strong positive impact on their organization.
High-performing organizations focus their effort on a small number of priorities that have the greatest influence on performance. When that alignment exists, teams spend less time managing confusion and more time making progress. John shares a model association members can use to evaluate how their organization is performing today and identify the areas that deserve attention.
Culture is the engine of performance. It shapes how members make decisions and how work gets done inside an organization. When leaders influence those patterns intentionally, engagement improves and accountability becomes part of everyday behavior. In this session, association members learn how to guide the behaviors that influence performance across their teams.
Association members work in an environment where circumstances can change quickly. In those moments, the ability to evaluate situations carefully and remain calm while guiding others through disruption becomes a defining professional skill. In this session, members will strengthen their ability to adapt and help their teams remain effective even when conditions are uncertain.
If you want a keynote that improves member engagement, delivers measurable value, and reflects well on your organization, let's talk.
